  • This week's Last Quarter Moon on Monday is by far the most exciting event all week. First, an Aries Moon always brings an energy boost with an aggressive and self-focused style. There is a strong need for action and problem solving. During this time you may seek independence and be short-tempered, confrontational and challenging. The tendency is toward single-minded missions or the startup of something from scratch. The daily tones are noisier and less tolerant then other Moon signs. There might be an absence of social grace or pleasantries but not be lacking in charm. This is an emotionally demanding period which can be filled with a need for sexual release. Assertiveness is seen everywhere and some people or other critters just will not take no for an answer. On the positive note you may begin projects you have held off. On the other side of that you may not finish them either. Next, this Aries Last Quarter Moon is the last leg of a powerful Moon Family that began with a solar eclipse in April 2004 that had a related lunar eclipse in October 2005. Now the group is complete with the pay-off from this Last Quarter Moon which is forming a grand show of might with a three-point triangle, called a grand trine (120°), involving the Aries Moon, an extraverted display from aggressive Mars in Leo and the planet that rules deep change through pressure, Pluto (in Sagittarius). This is a might-makes-right setup. Quarter Moons, whether the first or last quarter, are filled with action energy that plays out right on the day of the Moon phase, unlike New and Full Moons that have a range of 3-5 days when they express their influence. The conjunction of the Sun and retrograde Mercury in Cancer (a water sign) intrude upon the grand fire trine with a 150° contact to Pluto (Mr. Moneybags or power-monger). I call the 150° a "life's messy-clean it up" aspect. Sometimes it's health matters that call for attention with this aspect.
At a minimum, expect an interruption to your plans in the areas of life that Pluto controls, such as the all bureaucratic agencies, customs officers, police, insurance adjusters, inspectors, investigators of all types, accountants and the like who might annoy people by imposing laws, rules and regulations upon our lives.

Otherwise this aspect may cause an additional show of force in many regions of the globe. We see it now in Israel, a Taurus nation having a return of its Mars in Leo. Pluto, now in Sagittarius, is posing its force and power with the disruptive results common to an opposition to Uranus. Such is the case with Israel's Uranus in Gemini, receiving the brunt of transiting Pluto while the dark planet is 150° from Israel's Sun. Even though Pluto appears far from a conjunction to the nation's Jupiter in Sagittarius, it does increase its power. Transiting Mars, Pluto and the Last Quarter Moon act as propeller of a large engine. Lebanon is a Capricorn country with its Sun as the object of the last solar eclipse in Aries. The shadow of the Aries eclipse created a path right through the Middle East region bringing a simmering pot to boiling.

On a personal level we can expect to get matters rolling this coming week. With many pots on the stove and waiting for the chef to give a stir there is room for an old favorite to return - but heads could roll as the clever is dropped on Friday. Mars will be pulling attention to its noisy and fiery nature when it travels over the last degree of Leo for about 18 hours beginning at 1:20 a.m. on Friday until it changes signs on Saturday in the afternoon. Last week before the battles broke out in the Middle East I noted Saturn at eleven degrees of Leo and it reminded me of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin's assassination. I looked up the chart of the assignation and found the Sun on that day in November at 11° Scorpio. I expected something of the same to reoccur on July 12th. The degree of eleven of fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius) shows to bring about very serious events.

What could all this mean for us - we can expect to get matters rolling this coming week. There are many pots on the stove and all need a stir now. Mars will be pulling added attention to its noisy and fiery nature when it travels over the last degree of Leo for about 18 hours beginning at 1:20 a.m. on Friday until it changes signs on Saturday in the afternoon. Take care traveling and put as much energy into your creative endeavors as possible. Expect Monday to be the most active day this week bringing a push to your interests but there are many adjustments to be made from that Sun-Pluto quincunx (150°). There is a bright spot for personal a relationship indicator, the Moon-Sun midpoint. As of July 8th couples have a fair shot now that the Sun and Moon midpoint can occur in the sign of harmony (Libra) until December. The next big opening for partners begins on August 2, August 28, September 22, October 17, November 11 and lastly December 7, 2006. The Moon and Sun will be in Libra for a couple of days beginning on theses dates. Plan any event that might be enhanced by the agreeable nature of this point.

    Moon Signs & Daily Summaries
    Please read my
article on Refranations as they are an important astrological event marker.

    New Weekly Feature
For ease of reading the details of each day, when available or appropriate, follow the daily summary.

A Day Rating may not describe the feeling or your experience of that day but give details about the end result of your actions taken under that Moon sign period. A Moon sign period begins when the Moon enters a new sign and remains in effect until it leaves that sign. A Difficult Day can bring unwanted complications for the end result of your objectives. By choosing a Good Day and before the void of course Moon period, you increase you chances for a smoother and more favorable outcome. The day is rated by the last aspect from the Moon to a planet before it leaves the sign. That last aspect begins the void of course Moon period. Your activities are considered to be under the umbrella of the Moon sign that changes every couple of days. Days with the same Moon sign often carry the same day rating for the couple days the Moon occupies that sign.

    There some very important exceptions:
  • When a planet changes signs, the day rating can change.
  • When a planet changes direction, the day rating can change.

  •
These instances are referred to as a refranation, indicating that you are to expect someone to leave before you complete your objectives or the situation totally changes due to new and unseen developments or reversals.

    General Notes On Aries MoonsAries
A Good Day until void of course Pisces Moon at 3:55 p.m. changes to Aries at 8:38 p.m. then a Good period resumes through Monday night. Mercury is retrograde but a Venus and Mars aspect may invite the right opportunity for couples to come together or open up a line of communication in place of a gap. Melancholy or sentimental feelings fill the afternoon that shift to an energetic uplifting mood when the Moon enters Aries.
    Venus sextile (60°) Mars 12:50 a.m.

    General Notes On Aries MoonsAries
A Good Day with Caution. There is a need to bring about quick results that may cut off your long-term options. Sweet talk only goes so far when the rapport breaks down and the frivolous becomes serious. Something needs to be resolved before taking the next step. The tone shifts to lively conversation and great brainstorms.
    Planetary aspects included in today’s report are Mercury semi sextile 30° Venus. 6:30 a.m.; Venus semi-square (45°) Saturn 12:26 p.m.; and Mercury semi-sextile (30°) Mars at 7:58 p.m.

    General Notes On Taurus MoonsTaurus
A Good Day with Caution. Aries moon turns void of course at 9:50 p.m. Taurus Moon begins at 11:44 p.m. We have a high energy Aries Moon in its Last Quarter at 3:13 p.m. The day is one of the more active days of the year. There are ties to things you started two years ago and attempted to push to completion last fall and found you came short of your goals. Today you may reap a few rewards of a major effort that has a long shelf life as much as another sixteen years. You could quit or lose a contract or job. A lead to the next step may leave your head spinning. The Moon forms nine aspects to planets throughout the day.
Planetary aspects include: Sun quincunx (150°) Pluto at 5:13 a.m. and Mars contra parallel Jupiter at 11:23 p.m.

    General Notes On Taurus MoonsTaurus
Not Good. Taurus Moon. Stubborn, rough and argumentative. A strong desire to spend may lead to a major investment with a price tag that outlives the usefulness of the object. Try to remain open to all possibilities. Consider keeping your purse closed today. A visit with a sibling should be handled with patience and understanding. The situation changes soon and you can leave any misunderstanding to rest.
Planetary aspects included in today’s report are: Sun conjunct Mercury at 3:08 a.m.; Venus enters Cancer at 10:41 p.m. until August 12, 2006.

Cyan, the color of Wednesday  Wednesday, July 19, 2006
    General Notes On Taurus MoonsTaurus
Not Good. Taurus Moon. Thoughts race into a whirlpool of obsession. The news is heavy with consequences. Help can be found when you get past the gatekeeper. Something you learn is difficult to deal with but support is available if you are open to expressing your feelings. Don’t go to bed mad. You’ll feel like talking it through in the morning.
Planetary aspects included in today’s report are; Mercury quincunx (150°) Pluto at 12:38 p.m.

     Aspects for the Week

MOON GOES VOID OF COURSE AFTER TRINE MERCURY - Jul 15 2006

    MOON ENTERS ARIES 8:39 pm - Jul 15 2006
The Aries Moon brings in a higher energy level.

MERCURY SEMISEXTILE VENUS - Exact Jul 16 2006
Brief description: When Mercury is ahead of Venus there will be information regarding the yield from bank accounts and resources. There may be statements made between lovers, siblings, especially from sisters and from hearts of children. Problems may arise from a lack of information that would have an effect on the characters in these relationships. There may be encouraging economic picture without substantial backing and of short standing. Fluctuations are felt in both stocks and currency. There is an increased desire for sweets. It is also a nice time for visits with friends and family.
For personal use: Check your balances before making purchases. Be an active listener.
For business use: Open up the lines of communication for easy access to the employee

VENUS SEMISQUARE SATURN - Exact Jul 16 2006
Brief description: Difficulties in personal relationships involving insecurities regarding the status of the relationship. There can be a separation that is uncomfortable to tolerate or accept for now. There is an inability to get at the source of the problem at this time. When engaged in shopping your purchases and selections may reflect your current mood. The budget could be small. Not much money today. Uncomfortable feelings or settings during social activities. Boring, obligatory or stiff gatherings that may be necessary.
For personal use: You could find something of value at a lower price or your selection may be worth considerably less then the list price.
For business use: Look for the hungry entity eating up the profits.

MERCURY SEMISEXTILE MARS - Exact Jul 16 2006
Brief description: Unconscious chatter. Fast notes. Discussions begin with the objective to develop and organize. Meetings with technically skilled workers. Some working decisions or conclusions for the purpose of moving forward. Seeking honest responses and practical solutions. Attempt to make sound connections to those that are part of the solution. Consumed with errands. Seeking speedy results. Progress reports and support for recovery. Clearly decisive. A practical assertiveness. Expressions through writing.
For personal use: Sail through a project to organize that needs organization skills.
For business use: Make calls. Problem solve or work alone on a writing project.

SUN QUINCUNX PLUTO - Exact Jul 17 2006
Brief description: This is a health aspect in both mental and physical realms. The nature of the quincunx is that of adjustments that need to be made as a result of an upset. This is a "life's-messy clean-it-up" aspect that can be mentally tormenting. Pluto rules deep psychological change that is usually precipitated by some cathartic event. Now the Sun and Pluto connect at this angle to expose subjects that have been missing, closed or buried. Matters involving healthcare workers, police, mortgages, taxes, money-lenders and major leaders could come into the light in an uncomfortable setting. This particular aspect may lead to connections in high places.
For personal use: A disruptive event involving family, close friends and outsiders could be the source of problems. Lay low, operate with integrity and compassion when dealing with intense drama. Be part of the solution. Resist saying, "I told you so" and allow time to pick up the pieces. Try window-shopping for a house or get away for a while. Do mindless tasks to release stress.
For business use: Function within legal lines. If your project comes to a dead stop, consider new possibilities. Nothing is worth risking your mental or physical health. Use this time to clean up.

MOON GOES VOID OF COURSE AFTER PARALLEL MARS AT 9:50PM - Jul 17 2006

    MOON ENTERS TAURUS - 11:44 p.m.- Jul 17 2006
The Moon in Taurus is in its exaltation which normally indicates that there is a graciousness and honor of some sort. When the Moon is in Taurus, there tends to be a focus on finances, and often money comes through on these days. This is the Moon of tradition, concerned with matters of the family and gatherings. It is usually “food first” for Taurus Moons. Bonding is more apparent with loved ones. There is a need to get more grounded and find some peace and quiet. You may be carting about people or supplies (the symbolism here refers to before automated vehicles, when the bull-pulled carts of supplies and people were employed.) Taurus Moons can be lazier and more indulgent than usual. This can be a slow-moving couple of days with no rushing and lower blood pressure. The bull is more sensitive than they appear being also stubborn and not easily pulled off track. If there is a sense of being pressured this could incite rage especially if plans change without consulting the bull and then securing his/her approval. Don’t push, suggest. Find a way to make your pitch, sale or emotional plea politically palatable, practical and profitable to please and capture your benefactors’ attention. Remain sensitive and patient while watching the object of your attention become interested in your product. Making a pitch or sale with the Moon in Taurus can be tedious but you are often speaking to someone who has the means to fund your project or buy your products. If your can remember they don’t want to be pushed, they want to be seduced you will have much better luck. If you seem to be interested only in money you will loose their respect. When the Moon is in Taurus people like to buy things that are sensual to the touch. Fabrics need to be comfortable and relaxed but of high quality. Flannels, cottons and very soft wools are sought. Lots of food items, cooking and indoor/outdoor gardening are high on the activity list. This is a time to be nurtured and be nurturing. If the Taurus Moon occurs on an otherwise good day your powers of manipulation are strong. Your ability to move to the head of the line or the top of the list are greater today. Apply for a loan or mortgage. It is an excellent time for planting flowers and beautiful bushes. If you are a Taurus, matters tend to go your way.

SUN CONJUNCTS MERCURY - Exact Jul 18 2006
Brief description: This is the middle of the Mercury retrograde period and filled with the trickster's mishaps with information and travel plans. Take a solid inventory of what and how you need to go about your business. Double check itinerary and call ahead before you set out on your journey. Make sure all your paperwork is in order and you may want to pack a separate overnight bag incase you are separated from your luggage. Otherwise expect mental agility. Sharp mindedness for snap decisions. Awareness is heightened. Responses are quickened. Lots of errands. Short distant travel. Knowing ones mind. Important decisions. Assessing priorities. Analytical thinking may accelerate to worry. This aspect is positive for writing, collecting information. Sorting through gossip and news stories. There is a greater ease with multi tasking with adjustments. Outlining contracts for agreements to be signed when Mercury is direct July 28. Seeking introductions and appointments.
For personal use: Look and be at your best. Expect recognition. Go with the flow.
For business use: Read the fine print. Go after what you want with enthusiasm. Submit your work for editing. Advertise and network

VENUS ENTERIS CANCER - Jul 18 2006 until August 12.
Brief description: Venus, the planet of love, money, women and harmony leaves the flighty sign of Gemini and enters Venus' more compatible sign of Cancer. Here Venus is concerned with family relationships, emotional bonds and financial security. Deeper personal attachments and romance is possible.
For personal use: Share time and food with family and close friends.
For business use: A time to save or invest in things you trust.

MERCURY QUINCUNX PLUTO - Exact Jul 19 2006
Brief description: One becomes aware of mismatched agreements and bad contracts. Disagreements that lead to investigations will uncover deeper issues. This could be a time of psychological torment. Household pests are out of control.
For personal use: Find the instructions. Read the instructions. Follow the instructions. Then use prayer as the quickest route to emotional and mental relief. Consider disagreements as an opening for a much needed opportunity to talk things through.
For business use: Use reserves sparingly. You may need to engineer your way out of a jam. Read agreements very carefully so as the power is balanced for your needs.

MOON GOES VOID OF COURSE AFTER SQUARE MARS - 1:48 a.m. July 20 2006

    MOON ENTERS GEMINI - 4:38 a.m. - Jul 20 2006
The Gemini Moon: The next couple of days when the Moon travels through Gemini, people tend to be more curious, talkative and restless. There is more mental activity during this time. There is a lot of moving about and scouting around town for errands, short trips and visits. It is a good time to gather information although you need to check your sources for errors and material based on hearsay as talk is abundant but not all always reliable. Topics regarding siblings can be an issue or their may be visits between them. Children are more vocal. It is time to write note and the desire for writing your thoughts down is strong. It is a good time to connect by making calls, answering letters and the like to catch up with communication needs. People may lack sensitivity and just say what ever is on their minds when the Moon is in Gemini. As long as you keep things light and lively everyone should have a good time. If you are particularly thin skinned then you may select your company more carefully. There is a need for variety. To make the best of the Moon in Gemini you might want to spend more time listening to learn more than you expected. Good time to weed your garden and plant nothing. If you are a Gemini, matters tend to go your way.
