Sunday's partial solar eclipse is the headliner for this week and this spring season. The eclipse occurs at 10:43 p.m. on March 18, 2007, at 28°Pisces 7'. This is the last in a group of eclipses separated by a 19-year interval called the Metonic Cycle
Look back for correlations in your life to the dates of this group that began on March 18, 1950, March 18, 1969, March 18, 1988 and finally the current eclipse. There was a lunar eclipse related to this family of eclipse that occurred September 16, 1997 of which you might also find relevance to now, especially to matters that involve your personal relationships. Another related lunar eclipse will appear at this degree on September 16, 2016. Astrology's game of numbers triggers old events and revives them at the next event at these degrees. The 9-month Lunar Gestation Cycle
will also trigger the events set in place now. Watch related events to this eclipse develop to the First Quarter Moon stage on December 17, 2007.
This solar eclipse also belongs to a very long cycle called the Saros Series which has a range of nearly 1,300 years. The beginning of this Saros Series was on August 21, 1664 and it finishes on September 18, 2908. The eclipses in the Saros Series do not occur on the same date or same degree as we see in the neat pattern of the Metonic cycle. Bernadette Brady, an astrologer originally from Australia, delineated the meaning of each Saros Series. In this series No. 9 eclipses occurred in 1917, 1935, 1953, 1971, 2007, 2025, 2043 and so on through 2908. The Series No. 9 north is delineated in her book, The Eagle and the Lark, where she writes: This is a very physically expressive Saros Series. Accidents, great physical effort, violence or any sudden physical events. These can be experienced positively as, for example, the first time snow skiing, or it can be felt negatively in terms of accidents and so on. The approach to take when this Series is affecting a chart is not to hide away but to undertake some physical activity, with an ever watchful eye to safety. Bernadette was reading the actual chart from 1664. I find her method holds close to the interpretation of the eclipses of this eclipse. By reading the chart of Sunday's eclipse, I find that there are sudden and abrupt characteristics with haphazard conditions that involve shifting land and rising water. Uranus is strongly activated so close to the north node of the Moon. The nodes act as a powerful polarizing grip that holds the Sun and Moon in alignment with the earth and block the light from the Sun. During this event the magnetic pull of the earth is off balance, causing some disruption. Mars and Neptune oppose Saturn and Jupiter broadens the scope of the event by it's tight trine (120°) to Saturn. It is no wonder there is a snow storm this weekend and I expect the news reports will continue to report weather and geographical news over the next few days. The path of the eclipse sweeps from Africa, India up through China and Russia, crossing over Japan and ending in Alaska. Besides the geological indicators there are effects on the human plane. The sign of Pisces opens a channel for support from the universe. Meditation will be highly successful for sorting through issues and creating peace. Pluto's square (90°) to the eclipse point indicates the changes taking place deep under the surface that are pushing the earth to her limit. I understand her name is Terra. Please send her your love, prayers and a healing violet light and together we can be part of the solution. The red planet Mars has an aggressive masculine nature which has teamed up with illusive Neptune for the eclipse. This pair is often found on a misguided mission as Neptune cloaks his true self and they both oppose Saturn. This creates a series of clouded actions that attracts authority figures. Saturn turns direct April 19th which places him in a slightly stronger position. Saturn is weakened by it's location in Leo. Certainly his hands are tied behind his back when retrograde. The heaviness of this period now is partially due to Saturn moving so slowly, but a greater stillness comes from Pluto at the point where he turns retrograde on March 31st. All of these factors contribute to the seriousness during this time. Venus plays a strong role of support for money, love and understanding when I convert the eclipse chart to its ninth harmonic. This technique shows the greatest expression to the highest good or joy of the eclipse (and is used on natal charts as well), that emphasizes an opening for peaceful resolve through camaraderie, friendship and financial support. General note about 2007 Moon Signs. TRANSITS: 2007 Good Days. As a matter of fact the good days are all hinged upon a decent aspect to Pluto in Sagittarius who acts as a hungry hound at the end of that sign, requiring you feed him and his litany of demands before tending to your own needs. Pluto's appetite for control and attention is like a bottomless pit. When other planets are very late in a sign then their symbolism has the last word as the Moon forms its last aspect before leaving a sign. This summer Saturn becomes the latest planet for about two months from August 6- September 2nd. For the most part, until Pluto leaves Sagittarius next year, I do like a few Moon signs, Aries, Libra and Aquarius when the final aspects are positive being a trine (120°) or sextile (60°) to Pluto or a parallel or contra parallel to another planet.
