Venus in Virgo in 2003
Lovely Venus, the planet of love and money, is also the indicator of the overall nature of relating to one another and is the planet known as the peacemaker. Venus, when involved in favorable aspects to other planets, creates harmony in relationships. When Venus is found in difficult aspects, the infrastructure of relationships is challenged. Venus is also a planet of resources and talent. If your talent is resourcefulness then Venus might be in a very practical position in your chart, as it will be while in the sign of Virgo, from 7:36 a.m. on August 22, 2003, through September 15, 2003, at 11:58 a.m. The ancient astrological rules place Venus in its fall while in this sign. Venus however is exalted when in the sign of Pisces. Venus rules both Taurus and Libra.
Virgo is a practical sign that is not kind to Venus while she is there. She does not look her best while in Virgo. She is picky and shows her more annoying over-critical side while relating to others. She's always analyzing and sizing people up. She is not very forgiving of others shortcomings but, on the good side, has very discriminating taste while here. If you are in the retail business you might find that customers are far more scrutinizing over the next few weeks. People are very specific about their needs and the use of the object they are seeking. Virgo acts as a terrific assistant of services and supplies, and will find exactly what Venus is seeking. Mercury retrograde during much of Venus's stay in Virgo will be great for research as well as reconnecting with old flames and dear friends of the past. This up and coming Mercury retrograde in Virgo, from August 28, 2003 through September 20, 2003, may be filled with even more quirky equipment failures then the average Mercury retrograde period. One of the reasons is that Virgo rules the mechanical function of matters and our daily routines.
On August 28, 2003, both Mercury and Pluto change direction. First Mercury turns retrograde, then later Pluto, the planet of deep embedded issues and transformational life progression. Pluto returns to its direct motion in Sagittarius This is a day for an important message from those in a position of power. They may be restricted due to repetitious details that have been blatantly overlooked or ignored. Venus' role may be to hold an image and keep the critical eye focused on the hand, such as, for example, pushing bills through Congress while the public is distracted with other drama.
While considering Venus as our indicator for resources and relating, we can gather a few clues as to the condition of interpersonal relationships and the fluctuation of resources by the activity around the moment Venus enters Virgo. Venus' first challenge upon entering the sign of Virgo is an opposition to Uranus. This occurs within hours of the arrival on the Virgo threshold. Venus in Virgo has a need for a neat and tidy environment and this is not going to make that job easy. Uranus is a planet of sudden abrupt change and disruption. It is more likely to be found tossing everything out on the floor to demand a new look. What a mess. It might be like coming home after your first day on a new job to find the pipes broken and water seeped all over your wardrobe. Maybe the sight of your possessions brings you to tears and you can't replace everything because of a lack of money. But the tossing could also relate to the many faults of your dysfunctional relationship. This could be a break up aspect. So be careful how you approach your love troubles. If you do not want to face a separation agreement, then approach with caution.
Sometimes Uranus can bring unexpected pleasant surprises, but for the most part it is sure to be an unusual treatment of the matters ruled by the pairing planet. Uranus is already in a sign of rather unusual strangeness that causes weird disappearances and sudden vagueness that does not seem to address the cores issues. I would keep a close watch on my money and purse, just to be on the cautious side.
Uranus in Pisces can be both magical and totally baffling, and it remains retrograde through November 8th, 2003. However, it will change signs as it revisits the sign of Aquarius briefly, from September 14, 2003 until it enters Pisces again on December 30, 2003. That September 14th change of signs occurs as Venus is about to move out of Virgo, which forms a strong case for the chaos that is likely to be present in the nature of personal and global relating and in the "state of the pocketbook". It may seem like there is more work with more money but a series of the strangest events are spending every dime before the ink can even dry on your paycheck.
Relationships can be running off and on, hot and cold around August 26, 2003 when Venus, the feminine, opposes Mars, the masculine, and then connects in hot pursuit. This will be Venus in pursuit of an aloof and un-enchanted retrograde Mars who is unwilling to participate in any direct form of romance until the end of September. This is not to say he may not mind an indirect form of romance. The attraction meter and distraction factor of this aspect between Venus and Mars could add further confusion to an already stressed and strained relationship table. The options are to make love or sue for alienation of affection. But the Mars partner may be reacting out of a lack of love and empty returns on his advances over the past two years.
Venus sextile Saturn on August 30, 2003 is seeking stability and structure in both relationships and finance. People might be marrying or otherwise joining in partnerships for a purpose other than love, as they look for ways to work together toward the same goal to both conserve resources and enjoy future growth together. Joining from a more practical mind is actually somewhat appealing to the sorry state of Mars at this time.
With Venus in Virgo there could be a rise in sexual intrigue and clandestine affairs that could
break the toll booth for marital tolerance. Believe it or not, Virgo is a very sexual sign. The
disinterested and unavailable partner in the pair is likely to be the recipient of the cold, hard
truth, especially around September 5th when Venus is square Pluto.
Financial reports are likely to be serious, with signs of slight growth and a strong rebound plan that puts everyone on a "work harder get paid less" plan. Real estate prices are likely to be steadily lowering and the interest rates will be maintaining around the same current low rates. Venus will be looking to recoup its investments around an aspect to Vesta (investment) on September 8, 2003, the same day Venus joins Mercury retrograde at 20 degrees of Virgo. This may have an impact on oil prices. The oil market might be called on to explain its rates, together with those of the utility companies. A very ill aspect between Saturn in Cancer and Neptune in Aquarius can be contributing to a sneaky price hike of services, oil prices and related activities. There are likely to be topics specific to siblings, especially sisters and matters concerning your pets.
As Venus makes its way for its own sign of Libra on September 15th, 2003 it looks forward to more agreeable Venusian topics, after Mars begins to move forward again, on September 27, 2003.
While Venus is in Virgo she appears in three Moon Phases.
Venus plays a strong role in the chart of the Virgo New Moon on August 27, 2003, as she is one of five planets in Virgo and only two and a half degrees ahead of the Sun and Moon. Venus is the fastest running planet in Virgo and in a very serious position which appears to be dedicated to a driving force or cause. With Jupiter as part of the Virgo stellium it is likely to be of a political nature.
The First Quarter Moon on September 3, 2003, shows Venus headed for a mud pie with the square to Pluto possibly indicating a betrayal of a trusted servant.
Venus' position at the Full Moon on September 10, 2003 is finally the leading planet in Virgo; it passes the retrograde Mercury, leaving behind the memories of a long lost love of '97 and '98, in the pile with other memories. Reconnecting with the things that motivated investments, acquisitions, agreements and partnerships during 1997. This may be a time for the resurrection of old love and money matters or a complete burial. (Remember the dot.com rage?). One way or another you won't need to carry these questions from that time period any longer. Necessity becomes the mother of invention.
